LPU Organizes First Convocation Ceremony and Alumni Meet on 24th September

India’s Largest University, LPU organizes its First Convocation Ceremony this month on September 24th. His Excellency, the Governor of Punjab, the Administrator of Union Territory of Chandigarh and Visitor of the University, Shri Shivraj Vishwanath Patil, will preside and deliver the Convocation address. He will award the degrees/diplomas to the Graduates/Post-Graduates/ Diploma Holders and bestow honour upon other deserving scholars of the university for their illustrative scholastic pursuits. Shri Suresh Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab will be the Guest of Honour. The ceremony is for LPU Pass Outs (2007 to 2010)-Regular as well Distance Education Students. It is also for Lovely Institutes Pass-outs (PTU/GNDU 2008, 2009) as well Diploma Holders (PSBTE 2007, 2008, 2009). The University is also organizing Alumni Meet on the same day. It will be for all LPU & LI Students 2003 onwards.

Talking to the Media Persons, Ms. Rashmi Mittal, the Executive Dean of the University said that the degree recipients are required to participate in the mandatory Convocation Dress-Rehearsal on the same day at 10 a.m. They should carry a Photo Identity Proof (Voter ID card, PAN card, Driving License or Employee ID card) with them as a proof of their identity. The Alumni Meet will also be held from 7 to 8pm on the same day with Dinner. The students are required to register themselves at www.lpu.in or can send their e-mails at: convocation@lpu.co.in. The last date for Registration is 23 September. The whole Programme will be chalked out at Shri Baldev Raj Mittal square of the University.

It is worth illustration that LPU, within a short span of its inception, is regularly scaling the heights towards making India once again “Vishv Guru”. The programmes offered are designed to enable students to gain not only knowledge but skills that make them employable in a competitive global environment. The key features of the Programmes are their being industry focussed. It is presently offering over 150 programmes across many disciplines and has over 24,000 regular students on its rolls. It has many international students also on its rolls from 15 countries. It also has tie-ups with 20 Foreign Universities including those of UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore etc.
