More than 400 patients treated free of cost at a physiotherapy camp organised by LPU and Pahal

Fulfilling its commitment towards the society, Lovely Professional University-Phagwara in collaboration with renowned NGO Pahal, successfully completed a week long Physiotherapy Camp held at Maqsudan village in Jalandhar. The program which was inaugurated by Dr. SS Walia, Civil Surgeon-Jalandhar aimed at imparting free medical check ups to people ailing from different diseases. A team of 4 doctors from LPU was deputed for treating patients. Around 400 patients were treated of various ailments like body stiffness, joint pain, sport injuries , paralysis and aging problems. The treatment was done through physical exercises, and steering away from chemical prescription.

Shyam Sunder, one of the patients who received free treatment at the camp said, The doctors diagnosed me with acute joint inflammation. In absence of this camp, I would have never visited any doctor elsewhere because of expensive treatment. Thanks to this initiative by LPU and Pahal, that I have been able to get free and quality medical facilities.

Shri KD Bhandari, MLA Jalandhar- North concluded the week long camp and lauded the efforts made by LPU in imparting free medical services to the students. Er H.R Singla, Director General-LPU and Dr. Monika Gulati, Dean-LSAMS were also present on the final day of the event. Er Singla, while addressing the gathering said, Being a socially responsible organisation, LPU constantly strives to find more and more of ways of extending good to the general public. The real motive of education is to bring positive transformation in the society, and all our undertakings at the University are aimed at achieving this objective. At the end of the program, the report of the entire proceedings of the program were read out by Mr. Lakhbir Singh, President-Pahal.
