The program was inaugurated by Ms. Sandeep Riat, the lady behind the success of Akal Springs. She addressed the gathering and delivered a lecture on What it takes to be a successful entrepreneur? The speech gave a comprehensive account of the ideas of starting a business, the difficulties and roadblocks in its establishment, the level of efforts required to script a success story, the dos and donts for the new generation entrepreneurs etc. Sharing her views, Ms. Riat said, Entrepreneurship should not be seen as a means of livelihood only. It is a social service also. The scale of employment it generates and the needs of society it fulfills through its products and services, ultimately add to the good of the society.

More than 500 students attended the proceedings of the first day of the summit, and gave up a thumbs up to concept of entrepreneurship. Sanjeev Sharma, one of the students who attended the summit said, Being from a service class family, I have always been motivated to pursue a career in some government undertaking. But after listening to the success story of Ms. Riat, I have become restless to prove myself as a successful entrepreneur.

Mrs. Rashmi Mittal, Executive Dean-LPU while addressing the gathering said, The event is being held with four fold objective of creating awareness amongst the students about entrepreneurship, to impart training to them to develop the entrepreneurship skills, to motivate students through real life examples of young and successful entrepreneurs; and to provide common networking ground for sharing entrepreneurial experience and know how."

She further added "The success of the Chinese economy hinges on the enterprise of their businessman. In India, the focus is more on services. Though we have earned the reputation of one of the best service providers of the world, we need to learn from the Chinese model also. To eradicate poverty from the country and to bring about a more homogeneous growth, regionally and demographically, we need more of entrepreneurs."
