Lovely Professional University Ranked among Top Four MCA Institutes of Northern India by NASSCOM

Lovely Professional University has been ranked among Top Four MCA Institutes of Northern India published by India's largest professional news and media company, 'Siliconindia'. LPU has also been counted among first 20 such Institutes country wide. Based on a recent survey conducted by NASSCOM-an apex IT body with Booz Allen Hamilton-a consultancy firm; 'Siliconindia' has published about this in details, on its pages of September 2011 issue. It has declared Top 50 MCA Institutes in India and Top 10 Institutes Zone Wise- North, East, West & South. The sole parameter of judging an Institutes' quality is the performance of its students in the industry- measured by their pay package. Thus, this list is entirely based on a single parameter- CTC (Cost to Company) of a graduate after five years of work experience.

For this, a perceptual study was conducted among HR managers, recruitment firms and job boards. The companies/institutes were chosen carefully to ensure that the HR managers/professionals interviewed were involved with recruitment and had a fair idea about the market. Over 3000 MCA graduates who graduated in the year 2006 were interviewed across the six metros - Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. And, after an exhaustive research and analysis, the lists of top Govt. /private institutes, across India and in each zone, were made out.

On this coveted ranking, the Chancellor of the University, Mr Ashok Mittal said: "We are very happy to note that fore-front IT bodies have identified the potentiality of the University by keeping it in first top 20 Institutes of the country. In fact, the credit of this ranking goes to our hardworking students who have placed themselves in the top companies like Infosys, HCL, TCS, Wipro & others, under the guidance of their teachers." Continuing he said: "Such rankings are helpful to both IT Organizations and students as from these they may go ahead easily for the Institute of their liking, preference and value." It is worth noticing that there is a great need of nearly 1.5 million MCA graduates in the Indian IT industry by next decade.

Illustrative, National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) is the premier trade body and the chamber of commerce of the IT industries in India. It is with more than 1200 members, which include both Indian and multinational companies that have a presence in India. NASSCOM's member and associate member companies are broadly in the business of software development, software services, software products, consulting services, e-commerce & web services, engineering services off shoring, animation and gaming; whereas, Booz Allen Hamilton is a professional consulting firm with a focus on high quality not quantity delivery to clients.
