15 MBA Students from LPU visit US

A team of 15 MBA students from Lovely Professional University are on cloud nine these days after spending almost a month in North Carolina, Charlotte. This trip was part of the LPU's visionary international programme. Earlier, the students had also visited Singapore for Industry visits under the same programme. Under these programs students in addition to the regular studies have to visit US/ Europe for four weeks and Singapore/ Malasia for one week .This programme have been designed to provide students with the valuable understanding of international culture and working style. LPU has tied up with the University of North Carolina which is located in the financial capital of USA Charlotte for these programme.

LPU which currently has tie ups with more that 20 International Universities has been regularly arranging such initiatives for the students to provide them global exposure and practical knowledge. Last year the University sent around 61 students to the US and 68 students to Singapore and various other countries under a similar program. The students visiting these countries study their marketing strategies, business fundamentals and laws etc. “These trips provide the students with knowledge and understanding of various business environments and proceedings vital for a successful business set up. We want to give the students a truly global environment”, said Mr Ashok Mittal, Chancellor, Lovely Professional University.

During their stay, the students were also taken for Industrial visits to Bank of America, BMW’s assembly plant, Frito Lays etc. They were of the view that practical exposure gives a better insight of a subject. Sonam Gaba from Delhi said “I would never have imagined visiting these places on my own. It was a wonderful experience seeing the work culture of the MNCs.” Students from MBA International Exposure, MBA (hons) and regular were a part of the programme. Those students who had won entrance scholarships at LPU were also a part of the visit.

LPU has been aggressively involved in more tie ups to facilitate the students and is expecting more Universities to join for Cultural exchange and study exchange programmes. “In the era of flat world, to become better managers, it is essential for the students to go through various experiences. It’s just an effort in that stride,” added Mr Mittal.
